Bio

My work focuses on genre theory, language ideologies, and DEI in curriculum and assessment to bring meaningful experiences to learners. My past experiences have given me many opportunities to mentor students, develop and teach courses, and collaborate with programs and offices in a variety of disciplines to actualize equitable and just occasions for all learners to voice and contribute to knowledge and community building.

Courses I teach in English include 76-100, 76-101, 76-745, and 76-748 as well as the 76-302/702 practicum. In Modern Languages, I teach 82-794 and 82-795 and mentor students in the AL/SLA MA program. I also work with the Robotics Institute Summer Scholars program and am involved with Educational Diplomacy initiatives. Additionally, I held the position of Director of Communication and Language Support in the Student Academic Success Center. I am currently working in both the Modern Languages and English Departments and truly enjoy the interactions I have with the amazing students and colleagues from whom I learn every day.

When I'm not reading, I enjoy gardening, petting other people's dogs, and hiking.
