Bio

Jeremy Rosselot-Merritt, PhD (he/they) is a teacher and researcher of writing studies with a specialty in technical and professional communication (TPC). In his teaching, he facilitates an environment where students learn to address complex social and professional scenarios through writing and communication informed by a keen awareness of audience, purpose, and context.

In his research, he studies workplace communication, viability of technical communication across work contexts, and extradisciplinary (non-TPC) perceptions of technical communication. His scholarly interests also include organizational culture and workplace dynamics, emerging and open source technologies, and ways in which workplace research connects to TPC pedagogy. His scholarly work has appeared in such publications as Technical Communication, Technical Communication Quarterly, and Business and Professional Communication Quarterly.

 

Informing his approach to both teaching and research are 15 years of experience as a technical writer in industry and several years as a volunteer and board member in non-profit organizations funding medical research for type 1 diabetes (T1D).
