Bio

Brian Staszel is the Multimedia Designer & Video Director for the Carnegie Mellon University Robotics Institute. In addition to shooting and editing science documentaries, he has a background in web design and motion graphics. Brian is currently teaching the course “Introduction to Multimedia Design” here at CMU.

His video work at the Robotics Institute has been credited in programs produced for PBS and The Discovery Channel and are the result of having a front row seat to the development of amazing technologies. Brian has also produced award-winning work in collaboration with CMU’s Human Computer Interaction Institute.

Prior to coming to Carnegie Mellon, Staszel worked on a team at Brady Communications that produced award winning interactive projects for clients such as PNC Bank and Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines. He taught filmmaking and cinematography courses at Pittsburgh Filmmakers from 2000-2015. His films have been featured in festivals in the US and broadcast in the UK and Japan.
