Bio

Alan Thomas Kohler comes to CMU with over 20 years of administration and teaching experience in education and holds an M.A. in Applied Linguistics from the University of Massachusetts Boston and an M.A. and Ph.D. in Second Language Acquisition and Teaching from the University of Arizona. Alongside his past and current work in professional and technical communication, curriculum design and assessment, and second language writing, his research and professional interests include generative AI in education, UX design approaches to writing instruction, higher ed and program administration, and teacher training & development.
