While Herr is a new member of the Tepper School team, she brings a wealth of experience with Carnegie Mellon University to the role. She previously served as Senior Director for University Advancement in New York City, where she played a key role in building relationships with Tepper School and Masters of Science in Computational Finance alumni to strengthen alumni engagement and drive philanthropic support.

Now based in Pittsburgh, Herr is eager to reconnect with familiar faces and forge new relationships across the Tepper School community. Her vision is to foster a collaborative approach to alumni engagement and major giving, strengthening the lifelong connection between alumni and the school.

“We are incredibly pleased to welcome Laura and confident that her expertise will build on the strong foundation that John Sengenberger built,” said Jonathan Stern, Associate Dean of Advancement. “Her collaborative spirit and leadership will be a valuable addition to our integrated team as we continue to elevate our advancement and alumni engagement efforts.”

With her extensive experience, strong ties to Carnegie Mellon, and passion for community building, Herr is well-positioned to lead with purpose and vision. As she steps into this role, the entire Tepper School community looks forward to the energy, insight, and collaboration she brings.
