A proposed rule was published to the Federal Register on Friday, Sept. 25, that would, if finalized, impact students and scholars in F and J immigration status. As a global institution that deeply values international education and our international community, Carnegie Mellon is mindful of all federal regulations and policies that could affect our students and scholars.
We value & support international education.
The Office of International Education (OIE) is committed to supporting, promoting and celebrating individuals in an intercultural environment. We advocate for and facilitate international and cross-cultural experiences, perspectives and initiatives. OIE promotes and coordinates study abroad and acts as a liaison to the university for international students, researchers and professors.
Welcome New Students and Scholars!
Prior to your arrival to CMU, we recommend reviewing the Settling in Guide for in-depth information. New international students and scholars are required to attend an orientation session, so please plan travel accordingly.
