Ann Marie Petach, MSIA '84
Ann Marie Petach has forged a remarkable career in corporate finance.
From 2015-present, she has been a Senior Finance Leader at Google. She leads YouTube Strategy & Finance and previously led Alphabet’s Capital Planning, Search/Ads Finance, Indirect Procurement, and Treasury.
From 2007-2014, she was at BlackRock, the world’s largest asset manager, where she served as chief financial officer. At BlackRock, she is credited with transforming the company’s stock ownership structure and was core to the 2009 purchase of Barclay’s Global Investors, doubling client assets.
Prior to BlackRock, she was VP and treasurer at Ford Motor Co, a position that she rose to in 2004. At Ford, Petach was instrumental in arranging the $23.5 billion financial package that allowed the company to weather the financial crisis without government help. Petach joined Ford straight out of the Tepper School of Business.
After growing up in New Jersey, Petach graduated from Muhlenberg College before coming to the Tepper School. She has stayed connected by recruiting at the school, hosting alumni leadership events, and returning to campus to speak.
Petach was honored with the Tepper Alumni Lifetime Achievement Award in 2019, was named the most powerful woman in finance in 2012 by American Banker, and was listed on The Wall Street Journal’s 2012 inaugural Best CFOs list.
