A Privilege to Serve

Dear Members of the CMU Community:

It has been a profound privilege to lead Carnegie Mellon as president over the past five years, and I am humbled and grateful to have the opportunity to serve CMU’s brilliant faculty, students, staff and alumni for another term. I wish to thank Board Chair David Coulter and the members of the Board of Trustees for placing their trust and confidence in me.

I believe even more fervently today in the unique strengths that CMU brings to this pivotal moment for society: visionary creativity and discovery, cutting-edge scientific and technological scholarship, and a commitment to developing the next generation of leaders who can tackle complex challenges with passion, focus and humanity. To the members of the Tartan community around the world: I commit to champion and support your incredible work every day.
