Bio

Prior to joining the School of Music staff in 2018, Katherine (Kate) Shields Heston served as the Director of Music Admission and Student Services for the Mary Pappert School of Music at Duquesne University.  From 2004 - 2016 she headed the admission office as Director of Admission for Westminster Choir College which then became Westminster College of the Arts of Rider University in Princeton and Lawrenceville, NJ.

Kate began her career in admissions at her alma mater, Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies in 1994 and a Master of Liberal Arts with emphasis in Women's Studies and Art History in 2003.
