Audition & Portfolio Review Dates

The Artist Diploma program is not accepting applications for the current admissions cycle. 

PORTFOLIO REVIEW 

All Composition and Electronic Music portfolio interviews will be held in-person or via Zoom.

AUDITION DATES

On-Campus Auditions (Pittsburgh, PA)

  • Saturday 1/25: Trumpet
  • Sunday 1/26: Composition, Piano, Tenor/Bass Trombone
  • Saturday 2/1: Bassoon, Composition, Percussion, Tuba, Voice
  • Sunday 2/2: Composition, Saxophone, Trumpet, Voice
  • Saturday 2/8: Cello, Clarinet, Double Bass, Euphonium, Horn, Viola
  • Sunday 2/9: Cello, Classical Guitar, Collaborative Piano, Harp, Oboe, Viola 
  • Saturday 2/15: Electronic Music (interview), Flute
  • Sunday 2/16: Electronic Music (interview), Flute
  • Friday 2/21: Bagpipe
  • Saturday 2/22: Violin, Voice
  • Sunday 2/23: Violin 
All Instrumental and Voice Auditions will be held in person. Instrumental auditions are unaccompanied. Voice auditions will have an accompanist provided. 

NOTE: If you have any extenuating circumstances preventing you from attending any of the available options for auditions in-person, please communicate with Belmary Lorcas to explore which other options can be available for your department.

New York City Regional Auditions

  • Friday 2/14: Voice
  • Saturday 2/15: Instrumental

Accompanists are NOT provided for the NYC Regional Voice auditions. Voice applicants are required to have a collaborative pianist. We can provide a list of local accompanists, and students can make their own arrangements. Please contact the School of Music Office of Recruitment and Enrollment at music-admissions@andrew.cmu.edu for more information.

NOTE: CMU School of Music staff will be present at the Regional audition, however, faculty from every instrument area will not be present.  All NYC regional auditions will be recorded. Voice applicants and all instrument areas, except flute and percussion, are invited to attend.
