Virtually Visit the School of Music
Updated Information October 12, 2021: Updated Visitor Protocol effective August 1, 2021: Visitors (both indoors and outdoors) for one-time visits and/or recurring meetings/events on campus are permitted. All visitors to campus are required to abide by Carnegie Mellon University's COVID-19 Mitigation Protocols. Please keep the following in mind:
Minimum Requirements and Daily Self-Assessment
Visitors must review and agree to comply with the University's visitor protocols in order to register and be on campus.
You'll receive information about our Daily Symptom Self-Assessment (PDF)(opens in new window) in your reminder email. You do not need to submit this form to our office.
Vaccination Status and COVID-19 Testing
Visitors to Carnegie Mellon's campus are expected to be vaccinated against COVID-19 unless unable to be vaccinated due to disability or strong religious/moral conviction. When you register for a campus tour, you'll be asked to attest that you're either fully vaccinated or plan to have received a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours of your campus visit.
Facial coverings (sufficient to cover the nose and mouth) are required on campus, regardless of vaccination status. They're required for the duration of the tour.
Those wishing to visit campus may schedule through the Office of Undergraduate Admission or register for an in-person information session or campus tour.
Our application opened September 1. We are please to offer in-person School of Music tours beginning October 21, 2021 in addition to our regular Virtual Visits on Zoom.
In-Person Tours will take place on select Thursdays and Fridays at 1:00 PM for the remainder of the Fall 2021 semester. The tour is limited to one student and one guest; additional guests cannot be accommodated. Facial coverings will be required for the duration of the event.
We will continue to offer the Virtual Visit on Monday and Wednesdays at 3:00 PM (Eastern TIme) and Tuesdays at 1:00 PM (Eastern Time). The School of Music Virtual Visit will last approximately 45 minutes.
|School of Music Tour and Q&A:
Led by a School of Music Admission Ambassador, you will have the opportunity to see the School of Music facilities and hear from a current student all about their experiences and all of the opportunities that await you at Carnegie Mellon. The tour ends with a one-on-one Q&A with a member of the Office of Recruitment and Enrollment staff. The tour and Q&A will last approximately one and a half hours. We request that you register at least one week in advance of your desired visit date.
We are continuing to offer Individual Zoom Information Sessions for the School of Music. At the Virtual Visit you will have the opportunity to meet with a member of the School of Music Admission Staff and if available, a current School of Music Undergraduate Student. (Students interested in Music and Technology are encouraged to register to visit on a Tuesday). We request that you register at least 12 hours in advance.

Tuesday - 1:00 PM (Eastern Time)

The Virtual Visits are geared primarily for undergraduate prospects and applicants. If you are a graduate prospect please feel free to register for one of the Virtual Visits, however, if you are interested in scheduling an individual appointment with a member of our staff, please contact us directly at

Visiting Carnegie Mellon University Online - University Admission
The School of Music encourages all prospective undergraduate applicants to attend information sessions for both the School of Music and University Admission.
