Virtually Visit the School of Music

Update March 22, 2021: The unviersity is continuing its policy to keep campus closed to visitors for the remainder of the spring semester. We know this poses unique challenges to our admitted and prospective students. We invite you to get to know the Carnegie Mellon School of Music by scheduling a visit to our virtual campus anytime throughout the year. A Q&A and tour of the School of Music is offered weekdays at 11am or 1 pm when the university is open.  

The Q&A and virtual tour last approximately one hour.

Virtual Visit Opportunities for Prospective and Accepted Students

Register for a visit: We are offering Zoom Information Sessions for the School of Music on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 11 am and Tuesdays and Thursdays at 1 pm.  All visit times are Eastern Time. While on-campus events remain cancelled until further notice, the School of Music team is looking forward to meeting you virtually. We request that you register at least 12 hours in advance.

At the Virtual Visit you will have the opportunity to meet with a member of the School of Music Admission Staff and a current School of Music Undergradaute Student.  Please feel free to register for any of the visit days, however if you would like to further customize your visit, student representatives from the following areas will be available on these days:

Monday - Instrumental Performance, General Music, BXA Program
Tuesday - Music and Technology, Voice Performance, General Music 
Wednesday - Voice Performance, Double Majors, General Music
Thursday - Music and Technology, Composition, Instrumental Performance, General Music
Monday, Friday - Instrumental Performance, General Music

Monday, Wednesday, Friday, 11am (EDT)

Tuesday, Thursday, 1pm (EDT)

The Weekday Virtual Visits are primarily for undergraduate prospects.  If you are a graduate prospect please feel free to regsiter for one of the Virtual Visits, however, if you are interested in scheduling an individual appointment with a member of our staff, please contact us directly at We can offer Zoom or other types of appointments, and will confirm with you directly.

Visiting Carnegie Mellon University Online - University Admission

The School of Music encourages all prospective undergraduate applicants to attend information sessions for both the School of Music and University Admission.

Even though campus is closed, you can still experience Carnegie Mellon without ever leaving home.
