In April 2020 amidst the COVID-10 pandemic, surveys were administered to all CMU instructors and students. The goal was to gather data on the experiences of remote education so that results could inform future teaching and course design, especially in remote and hybrid modes of instruction. We analyzed the survey responses and produced two reports:
- A preliminary set of take-aways that we shared (as a pre-read) and discussed at more than 24 departmental faculty meetings during May-July.
- A complementary and more thorough report of the survey results, with brief summaries for each section answering “What did we find?” “What does this mean?” and “What can instructors do?”
