Zach joined the Eberly Center in 2018 after graduating from the Masters of Educational Technology and Applied Learning Science (METALS) program at CMU. He supports instructors through aligning technologies to their teaching and learning needs. In addition to integrating existing tools into online and blended classrooms, he helps develop new instructional assets based on learning science principles. He leverages platforms such as the Open Learning Initiative (OLI) and Cognitive Tutor Authoring Tools (CTAT) and provides consultations on using them to improve student outcomes. Zach previously worked as a research assistant in a cognitive science lab, using fMRI to study how the brain processes language.
