Harley previously earned a Masters of Education from Harvard Graduate School of Education in Technology, Innovation and Education and worked as a high school math teacher, specializing in Precalculus and Discovery and Inquiry Based Learning.  He joined the Eberly Center in 2020 after graduating from the Masters of Educational Technology and Applied Learning Science (METALS) program at CMU.

Harley currently supports instructors by advising them on current and emerging learning technologies that can be used to support teaching and learning in their classrooms as well as utilizing learning science principles to better align learning technologies with learning goals, assessments, and instruction.  He also helps develop new instructional assets using the Open Learning Initiative (OLI) and Cognitive Tutor Authoring Tools (CTAT).
