Alexis Adams, Phd
Dr. Alexis Adams, who prefers Lexi for short, joined the Eberly Center in 2018 as a Graduate Teaching Fellow and transitioned to a Postdoctoral Teaching Consultant in 2020 after completing a doctorate in Second Language Acquisition at CMU. Lexi facilitates seminars and consults with instructors, staff, and graduate students at the Pittsburgh and Doha campuses on a range of teaching and learning topics. In particular, she is interested in promoting culturally responsive teaching and supporting the diverse group of multilingual and international students at CMU.
In addition to working at the Eberly Center, Lexi has taught a variety of courses in Spanish, ESL, first-year writing, and pedagogy for university and Pre-K-12 students in the US, South America, and the Middle East. Her research focuses on classroom discourse practices and foreign language education.
