Many room types exist within Carnegie Mellon's residence halls, apartments, and houses. Housing rates may differ per residence type and/or room type.

Semi-Suite Rooms

Semi-Suite Double

Two residents sharing one bedroom; three to five residents sharing one semi-private bathroom

Semi-Suite Single

One resident in a single bedroom; three to five residents sharing one semi-private bathroom

Semi-Suite Triple

Three residents sharing one bedroom; three to five residents sharing one semi-private bathroom

Semi-Suite Quad

Four residents sharing one bedroom; three to five residents sharing one semi-private bathroom

Double-as-Triple

Three residents sharing one bedroom in the Maggie Mo FY Houses; three to five residents sharing one semi-private bathroom; includes a reduced rate.

Traditional Rooms

Traditional Double

Two residents sharing one bedroom; community bathroom shared with an entire floor or wing

Traditional Single

One resident in a bedroom; community bathroom shared with an entire floor or wing

Traditional Triple

Three residents sharing one bedroom; community bathroom shared with an entire floor or wing

Double-as-Triple

Three residents sharing one bedroom in Donner House; community bathroom shared with an entire floor or wing; includes a reduced rate.

Suites

Suite Double

Two residents sharing one bedroom within a suite with additional bedrooms; bathroom and living room/lounge area shared with other residents (3 to 8 residents total); Resnik and West Wing only

Suite Single

One resident in a bedroom within a suite with additional bedrooms; bathroom and living room/lounge area shared with the other residents (3 to 8 residents total); Resnik and West Wing only

Apartments

Apartment Double

Two residents sharing one bedroom; semi-private bathroom, living room and kitchen shared with the other residents (2 to 6 residents total)

Apartment Single

One resident in a bedroom in an apartment with additional bedrooms; semi-private bathroom, living room and kitchen shared with other residents (2 to 6 residents total)

Apartment Triple

Three residents sharing one bedroom in an apartment that may contain additional bedrooms; semi-private bathroom, living room and kitchen shared with the other residents (2 to 6 residents total)

Studio Apartment Double

Two residents sharing one bedroom; shared semi-private bathroom and kitchen; living room furniture in bed/main room (no separate bedroom)

Studio Apartment Single

One resident in one bedroom; private bathroom and kitchen; living room furniture in main/bedroom (no separate living room area); available to select RA/CA positions only

Studio Apartment Triple

Three residents sharing one bedroom; shared semi-private bathroom and kitchen; living room furniture in bed/main room (no separate bedroom)
