Centers & Facilities

Our Department benefits from the availability of state-of-the-art facilities and participation in several different university-wide initiatives focusing on interdisciplinary brain research and the Science of Learning. We also enjoy a unique cross-institution partnership with the University of Pittsburgh focusing on the neural basis of cognition. Our shared, departmental facilities include:

  • CMU-Pitt BRIDGE Center
  • MEG: located nearby at the University of Pittsburgh
  • EEG: 128-channel BioSemi system
  • NIRS: located at the Children’s School
  • Multiple eye-trackers
  • High-Performance Computing Cluster: computational simulation, neural-network modeling and data analysis with ~400 CPUs and ~15 GPUs (joint Psychology/NI facility)
  • The Department of Psychology has partnered with the Department of Psychology of Effat University since 2011 to provide advice and assistance to Effat’s Department of Psychology on its curriculum development, training and teaching methodologies.
