Welcome to Carnegie Mellon’s Pre-College Programs!
As a MUSIC COMMUTER: PART-TIME student, you are required to complete the following steps to finalize your enrollment.
Step 1: Select your Program Options (Lessons and Activities) and Pay Any Associated Costs
After you submit your application, you will receive an email with instructions on how to select your program part-time options through the School of Music at https://commerce.cashnet.com/CMU170. If you require assistance with your option choices, contact email@example.com.
Step 2: Confirm Receipt of your Andrew userID
In approximately one week after your application is submitted, you will receive an email entitled “Action Required: Your Andrew userID Has Been Created” from firstname.lastname@example.org. The email will provide instructions on how to confirm the receipt of your Andrew userID. Please be sure to check your spam folder, in the event the email does not appear in your inbox.
Step 3: Create Andrew Password and Enroll in Two-Factor Authentication
Once you have confirmed the receipt of your Andrew User ID, you will receive a second email entitled "Action Required: Create Your Password and Enroll in 2fa” from email@example.com. The email will contain instructions for setting a password and enrolling in two-factor authentication (2fa) with DUO, Carnegie Mellon’s authentication service provider.
Step 4: Log on to Student Information Online (SIO)
After you create your password and enroll in 2fa, you will have access to the Student Information Online (SIO) where you will be able to verify biographical information.
Step 5: Verify your information in the MY INFO tab on SIO
Under the My Info tab on SIO, verify that the Permanent Address, Personal Email, and Mobile Phone information is correct. Additionally, ensure that the information is the student’s rather than that of the parent or guardian. This information is used for our emergency alert system, so it is imperative for the information to be that of the student.
Step 6: Complete and Submit Enrollment Forms
Several days after creating your Andrew password, you will receive an email entitled “[CMU Pre-College] Enrolling in the Carnegie Mellon University Pre-College Program” from firstname.lastname@example.org. The email provides instructions on how to access the enrollment portal. Please check your spam folder if you do not see it in your inbox. The deadline for submitting all of the enrollment materials is 2 weeks after notification of admission.
Step 7: Access your CMU Email Account
Check your CMU email regularly for official university messages and updates from your instructors. We will not communicate with you using your personal email account. You can read your CMU email using a browser or an app on your mobile device.
