As a MUSIC COMMUTER: PART-TIME student, you are required to complete the following steps to finalize your enrollment.

You will receive an email entitled “Action Required: Your Andrew userID Has Been Created” from The email will provide instructions on how to receive your Andrew userID, set a password, and enroll in two-factor authentication (2fa) with DUO, Carnegie Mellon’s multi-factor authentication service provider. Please be sure to check your spam folder, in the event the email does not appear in your inbox.

After you create your password and enroll in 2fa, you will have access to the Student Information Online (SIO) where you will be able to verify biographical information.

Under the My Info tab on SIO, verify that the Permanent Address, Personal Email, and Mobile Phone information is correct. Additionally, ensure that the information is the student’s rather than that of the parent or guardian. This information is used for our emergency alert system, so it is imperative for the information to be that of the student.

Several days after creating your Andrew password, you will receive an email entitled “[CMU Pre-College] Enrolling in the Carnegie Mellon's Pre-College Programs” from The email provides instructions on how to access the enrollment portal. Please check your spam folder if you do not see it in your inbox. The deadline for submitting all of the enrollment materials is two weeks after notification of admission. 

Check your CMU email regularly for official university messages and updates from your instructors. We will not communicate with you using your personal email account. You can read your CMU email using a browser or an app on your mobile device.
