Carnegie Mellon University

Admitted Students: Enrollment Process - Steps 1 to 9

As a Carnegie Mellon Pre-College student, you are required to complete the following steps to finalize your enrollment.

Securing your spot and setting up CMU access

Step 1

Secure your spot

If you've received an offer of admittance, you have seven days to submit the enrollment reply form and pay the deposit* to secure your spot in the program.

*Students admitted into AI Scholars, CS Scholars, EDG:E, and SAMS do not pay a deposit.

Steps to complete:
» Accept your offer on the enrollment reply form in your applicant portal
» Pay your enrollment deposit through your applicant portal, if applicable

Step 2

Set up your access

Watch for an email from it-help@cmu.edu with the subject line: “Action Required: Your Andrew userID Has Been Created” (approx. 10 days after completing Step 1).

This email will instruct you on
how to receive your Andrew userID, set your password, and enroll in Duo (CMU's two-factor authentication).

Steps to complete:
» Receive your Andrew userID
» Set up your password
» Enroll in Duo

Step 3

Verify your information

After completing Step 2, you will have access to Student Information Online (SIO). Here you need to verify important biographical information: permanent address, personal email, and mobile phone. This information is for our emergency alert system, so it must be the student’s information rather than that of the parent or guardian

Steps to complete:
» Log on to SIO (with Andrew userID/password)
» Verify your student information (for emergency system)

Step 4

Access your CMU email

Log on to your CMU email account after you have established an Andrew userID and password (Step 2).

Steps to complete:
» Log on to your CMU email (with Andrew userID/password)
» Begin checking it regularly

Complete medical forms

Pre-College students must complete Carnegie Mellon's immunization and health forms requirements through HealthConnect, the University Health Services' secure online portal.
