Condition of Room upon Departure

Each student is required to return their assigned room back to its original state, removing from CMU campus upon departure all items brought into the room. Any excessive damage or trash that is not properly disposed of will be billed to the student’s account, resulting in the delay of releasing transcripts or program evaluations to the student. Students must schedule a time with their (S)RAs prior to leaving campus to complete the required Checkout Procedure and verify their room has been returned to its original move-in condition. Further information regarding checkout procedures will be given to students one week prior to the move-out date.

Early Departure

Requests to leave prior to the end of a student's individual academic programming schedule require special permission. Students must contact the Assistant Director for Pre-College Student Affairs to complete early departure paperwork which requires approval signatures from both the academic director and the Assistant Director for Pre-College Student Affairs. Students must then arrange an early mandatory walkthrough of their room with their RA or CA.

Withdrawal/Explusion

Students who request to withdraw or are expelled from Pre-College Programs must complete withdrawal paperwork which requires approval signatures from both the academic director and the Director of Pre-College Programs. Students will need to officially check out of their room prior to departure by meeting the 'Condition of Room upon Departure' procedures.
