Donner House

Donner House is a first-year community and a place of tradition on Carnegie Mellon University's campus.

Over the two semesters living in Donner, friendships are formed and a unique freshman experience is guaranteed. With large rooms and lounge spaces, residents spend time with one another both in and outside of the house. Donner is close to athletic facilities and fine arts buildings, so whether you play for a team or have an exhibit to present, there is a lot of support from the surrounding community.

At the beginning of the academic year, a variety fair is hosted in Donner that is open to all members of the CMU community. Activities include karaoke, sushi making, massages, aromatherapy, and community service, to name just a few.

Donner House is located on the part of CMU's campus known as "the Hill." It's the largest of the first-year residence halls and consists primarily of standard double rooms, with a few singles and triples. Residents share central bathrooms and the building is all gender. Each wing is single gender. Donner has a TV lounge, study lounge, recreational area, laundry facilities, and a kitchen.
