Bio

I am interested in Cognitive Psychology, specifically everything that pertains to bilingualism and multilingualism. Being a multilingual myself, I enjoy talking about research in the field, hoping to get my students interested and involved. It is fascinating to learn about how mind works, not just with respect to language, but other cognitive processes like perception, attention, memory, special cognition, problem-solving, and decision-making. We use these processes every day, often taking them for granted, but there are complex and intricate mechanisms supporting them that we are not always aware of. Most of my classes contain demonstrations, usually a mock experiment, to illustrate how cognitive processes work or how an experiment can support a theory. My research focuses on bilingualism and its relation to other processes such as decision-making and emotion.
