Transfer Into the Tepper School

Students at Carnegie Mellon are able to transfer into the Tepper School of Business as internal transfer students to pursue the undergraduate Business Administration or Economics majors. Transfer acceptance is evaluated on academic performance and is limited by space.

You may apply for acceptance into the Tepper School twice during an undergraduate career. Applications are due by 5 p.m. on the last day of classes in the fall and spring semester.

If you are interested in transferring to business administration or economics majors, you should review the Carnegie Mellon course catalog for admission eligibility. A transfer application includes the completed form which includes a resume and personal statement submission.

Students who are currently in a Tepper major (Business Administration or Economics) and wish to change their major to another major also in Tepper should speak with their academic advisor for the intra-Tepper major change process. Students who are currently in economics and wish to change their major to Economics+Politics or Economics+Statistics are encouraged to speak with their economics advisor for the intra-economics major change process.
