Bio

I earned a BA in Liberal Arts from The Evergreen State College, a MA in Liberal Arts from St. John’s College, Annapolis, and a MA in Rhetoric from Carnegie Mellon University. My current research examines emergent digital technologies within their historical, theoretical, and institutional contexts. I consider the consequences of these technologies on competing ideas about the future, and their intersections with subjects such as cultural identities, political economy, and social/political formations. I also have research interests in the history of computing, digital humanities, and science fiction studies. I am the English Department’s 2018 Graduate Fellow in Humanities Analytics and a HASTAC Scholar. Previously, I was an A.W. Mellon Fellow in the Digital Humanities at the Dietrich School for the Humanities and Social Sciences.
