James joined Carnegie Mellon University and the Tepper Undergraduate Programs team in August 2024 as an academic advisor.
Prior to this role, he served as a college and career advisor in a New York City public high school, where he played a pivotal role in fostering a robust college-going culture. James holds a bachelor's degree in Cognitive Neuroscience and Educational Studies from Washington University in St. Louis and a master’s degree in Higher Education and Student Affairs from New York University.
Outside of his professional life, James is an avid musician, enjoying both the guitar and piano. He also enjoys reading nonfiction books and is a dedicated fan of the New York Mets.
In his free time, James loves taking weekend trips to visit family and friends on the East Coast and in the Midwest.
