How Analytics and Technology are Transforming Healthcare
How are analytics helping allocate livers in a fair and efficient manner? How is machine learning assisting in providing a personalized cancer treatment? Can wearables reduce the chances of relapse due to opioid use? Are people nudge-able to increase organ and tissue supply? Can gene therapy via RNA interference actually help? When is splitting a liver ethical? What is the healthcare ecosystem in the U.S. that one has to navigate to bring innovations to the market?

Robert Monroe, Teaching Professor of Business Technologies
The Future of Autonomous Vehicles is Running Through Pittsburgh
This talk will provide a brief survey of where we are, technology-wise, on the road to fully autonomous vehicles, identify some of the hard technical problems that nobody has yet figured out how to solve, and raise some interesting questions about the social and economic implications and opportunities of widespread adoption of fully autonomous vehicles.
