Collaborative Piano Audition Requirements

The Collaborative Piano curriculum gives specialized training to pianists pursuing a career working with vocalists and instrumentalists. This curriculum provides the necessary skills and artistry required for an increasingly growing field. Collaborative Piano auditions are based on which track/concentration to which you are applying.

Dual Track Audition Repertoire:
Instrumental: prepare two pieces or two movements
Vocal: prepare three pieces - one aria, one song, one of your choice

  1. César Franck: 
    Sonata for Violin and Piano in A Major
    Allegretto ben moderato
    Allegro
  2. Ludwig van Beethoven:
    Sonata for Piano and Violin No. 7 in C Minor, Op. 30, No. 2 (Allegro con Brio) or
    Sonata for Piano and Cello No. 3 in A Major, Op. 69 (Allegro ma non tanto)
  3. Johannes Brahms, Meine Liebe ist grün (b minor), Gabriel Fauré: Toujours (e minor) from Poème d’un Jour, Samuel Barber: St. Ita's Vision from Hermit Song, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: Guinse alfin il momento...Deh vieni, non tadar from Le Nozze di Figaro

The AMS in Collaborative Piano is a one-year program which gives students the opportunity to customize their studies under the guidance of their instructor. The program is available in three “tracks” Dual Track (Instrumental and Vocal), Instrumental Track, and Vocal Track. The audition requirements are the same as the graduate program requirements. Equivalent repertoire will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
