CMU Named Among Best Music Schools

The Carnegie Mellon University School of Music has been named in InTune Monthly's 2025 list of the best music schools published this month. The online publication is a resource aimed at middle and high school musicians, and publishes its "Best Music Schools" list every two years. Other institutions named in this issue include Manhattan School of Music, Oberlin Conservatory of Music, Berklee College of Music and the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University.

Carnegie Mellon is noted for "curricular creativity" and encouraging entrepeneurship among its music students. The article also notes the importance of developing skills in music technology and collaborating with industry professionals, both of which are strengths at CMU.

In addition, the CMU School of Music was featured in SoundScout's list of the 21 most-requested college music programs as rated by student users. SoundScout is a new app that helps student musicians improve their visibility and connect with college programs.
