Bio

Nicole Brockmann holds the Dalcroze License from Carnegie Mellon University and a DMA and other graduate music degrees from Yale University. She has more than twenty years’ experience teaching music and Eurhythmics at the college level, including at West Virginia University and DePauw University. She is the author of From Sight to Sound: Improvisational Games for Classical Musicians (Indiana University Press, 2009), a Dalcroze-influenced book that connects ear training to instrumental performance and creates structures enabling single-line instrumentalists to learn to improvise with their peers in a variety of harmonic contexts.
