Dalcroze Certificate Candidate



Chase Alexander Upchurch is a young composer, conductor, performer, and educator working in the northwestern Pennsylvania region. He strives to use music in explosively artistic and inventive new ways while expressing his passion and love for the arts through every new endeavor he is granted.

Chase just graduated as a music education major at Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania. He operates his own private studio in addition to working as a private teacher for Sing Sing Sing USA, where he offers both voice and piano lessons to a wide range of ages and varying experience levels. He also serves as the choir director and pianist at Nixon United Methodist Church in Butler, Pennsylvania and just recently ended a three year run as the assistant marching band director for Leechburg Area High School in Leechburg, Pennsylvania. Chase composes and performs many original works, having premiered in cities from Erie to Pittsburgh. 

Chase is a candidate for the Dalcroze Eurhythmics Certificate and plans to use the skills developed here in his classroom and private teaching venues as well as host Dalcroze Eurhythmics and Solfege introductory workshops with local performing ensembles and music education groups.
