Bio

Veronica Pemberton is a music teacher, living in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. A dedicated and passionate teacher, Veronica draws on a diverse background of music, educational, and training approaches to provide each student with a highly-individualized pathway to musical success and satisfaction.

A classically-trained pianist, Veronica returned to university after many years as a management consultant and executive coach to pursue a Baccalauréat en musique (B. Mus.) at Université de Montréal, where she also studied music theory and composition, earning an additional Certificat (mineur) en écriture musicale. She is a graduate of the Programme de formation de chefs de choeur (Training Program for Choral Conductors) of Alliance des Chorales du Québec, and has been described by choristers as a dynamic, energetic and engaging choir conductor.

Veronica is the founder of Music by Nature — a fully integrated approach to learning music. In addition, to private piano lessons, Music by Nature offers a variety of classes for children and adults, based on the principles of Emile Jaques-Dalcroze and designed to deepen and expand students’ musical experience, self-expression, knowledge and proficiency through movement and song.

Veronica is thrilled to be a certificate candidate at the Marta Sanchez Dalcroze Training Center at Carnegie Mellon University. This training program has enriched beyond measure her personal musicianship, self-expression and joy in music-making, and as a consequence, it has enhanced her teaching at every level. She is eager to achieve certification in the Dalcroze method so as to offer this remarkable musical experience to her students.
