Updates Impacting Travel from China, Hong Kong and Macau
Effective Jan. 5, 2023, the U.S. government has begun requiring "a negative COVID-19 test result (taken within two days of departure) or proof of recovery from the virus (within the last 90 days) for all travelers aged two years and older to the United States" for flights from China, including Hong Kong and Macau. This rule applies to people regardless of citizenship and also applies to flights from China via a third country (such as flights from Vancouver or Toronto if the person has been in China, Hong Kong or Macau within 10 days of their flight to the U.S.).
More details and information can be found on the U.S. State Department's website.
All CMU community members are encouraged to monitor conditions and government requirements of any countries they plan to travel to or through as policies continue to change.
