Properties of Well Defined Macromolecules

There is an extensive range of well defined functional materials that has been prepared by ATRP since ATRP is the most extensively studied controlled radical polymerization system.  In the schematic used several times on this web page we indicate that the presise synthesis of macromolecules with predetermined molecular weight, designed molecular weight distribution, controlled topology, composition and functionality is followed by self assembly, or controlled processing, into materials with well defined morphology suitable for a number of high value applications including nanocomposites, and biomedial applications including drug delivery and scaffolds for bone and cell regeneration in addition to larger volumn applications such as thermoplastic elastomers, coatings, surfactants dispersants etc...
