Applying to Carnegie Mellon

International (non-U.S. citizen) student applicants follow the same procedures for admission to Carnegie Mellon as U.S. citizens. Once an international student is admitted, the Office of International Education (OIE) helps facilitate immigration requirements and prepares the student for arrival to the U.S. and campus.

Non-Degree Studies

Non-immigrant visa documents (I-20s or DS-2019s) are issued only to students admitted to CMU to pursue a degree program or to participate in a formal exchange. Students who register for non-degree/visiting coursework are not eligible to receive immigration documents from CMU.
