Data Privacy

Do you know what your data is doing? On Sunday, Jan. 28, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., check out Privacy Day 2024 at the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh (CLP). For the first time, CMU is partnering with CLP to celebrate International Data Privacy Day by bringing practical advice on protecting privacy online to the general public off campus. This event is open to the public, and no registration is required. Lunch will be provided! Data Privacy Day is an international effort to empower and educate people to protect their privacy and control their digital footprint. Learn more about this event.

The Winter FAIR

Mark your calendars! The Winter 2024 FAIR will be held Thursday, Feb. 1, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. in Rangos Ballroom. The FAIR showcases many of CMU's 300+ student government recognized student organizations, 23 sorority and fraternity organizations, and partners from around campus and the Pittsburgh community. The entire CMU community - undergraduate and graduate students, staff, and faculty - are invited to explore ways to get involved at Carnegie Mellon and beyond. Stress Less Fest

Take a deep breath and relax! On Saturday, Jan. 27, from 1 to 4 p.m., join the Mindfulness Room team for a fun, interactive and informative wellness-focused day. There are activities for everyone and every interest! Make your own terrarium, and be immersed in a magical world of plants. Or, make a no-sew tote bag, transforming an old t-shirt into a bag without any sewing skills required. Maybe you want to make some new friends or try a new board game! There’s something for everyone. Learn more about this event.

Drum Tao

On Saturday, Jan. 27, at 7 p.m., check out this one-of-a-kind show! Drum Tao was established in 1993 with a dream of creating the best show in the world using Taiko drums (Japanese drums), an instrument with a rare and unique variety of sound expressions. Drum Tao creates its own music, stage set-ups, and costumes to produce its one and only world of entertainment. Learn more about this event.

Lecture & Book Signing by Momoyo Kaijima (Atelier Bow-Wow)

On Monday, Jan. 29, from 5 to 8 p.m., join Momoyo Kaijima for a book signing and lecture. Momoyo Kaijima, a distinguished figure in contemporary architecture, co-founded Atelier Bow-Wow, an influential architectural studio in Japan. In this thought-provoking lecture, "Architectural Behaviorology," Kaijima will share insights from her extensive involvement in over 150 architectural projects. This session promises to provide valuable perspectives on the intersection of architectural practice and visionary design. A moderated question and answer session will follow the lecture. Learn more about this event.
