We invite you to attend the Employment Authorization Session for International Students:

*This is NOT an OPT session. Attending this session WILL NOT fulfill the requirement to attend a mandatory OPT session.** 

Are you an international student in the US? Attend this presentation to learn the basics of employment authorization. Employment Authorization: what is it and when do you need it?

Objectives:

  • J-1 students: learn what is needed to work on campus and off campus during your time here.
  • F-1 students: learn what is needed to work on campus and off campus during your time here. Learn the basics of OPT, STEM OPT Extension, and Cap-Gap Extension.
  • Identify the difference between employment and volunteering
  • Learn what Immigration says about employment authorization and learn what Career Services says about professional employment expectations.
