Spring 2020 Optional Practical Training (OPT) Sessions
If you are planning to apply for OPT this semester, it is mandatory that you attend one of the following OPT sessions with the Office of International Education (OIE). OIE cannot schedule individual advising appointments to provide this information, so plan ahead to find a session that will fit your schedule.

Students must register for a session in advance. To register, log in to your Handshake account and register for the event “OPT Session”. Zoom meeting links can be accessed in the respective OPT session event on Handshake.
Prior to attending the session, you must read through the OPT instructions.
As always, you can find OPT information, the Academic Advisor form, and slides on the OIE website – along with other dates to register for an OPT session in Handshake.
**J-1 students who are expecting to complete their program this semester should read the handout on Academic Training and submit the required materials to oie@andrew.cmu.edu -- ONLY if CMU issued your DS-2019 immigration document.**
