Spring 2019 Curricular Practical Training (CPT) Sessions
If you are an F-1 student who is planning to apply for CPT off-campus work authorization for summer 2019, it is MANDATORY that you attend one CPT Information Sessions with the Office of International Education (OIE). Please understand that we are unable to schedule individual advising appointments to provide this information, so we suggest planning ahead to find a session that will fit your schedule.
**YOU CANNOT BEGIN WORKING UNTIL YOU HAVE YOU HAVE ATTENDED A CPT INFORMATION SESSION AND HAVE AN APPROVED CPT 1-20 FROM OIE - (SUMMER ONLY)**
J-1 students who are expecting to complete their program this semester should read the Academic Training (pdf) handout and submit the required materials to oie@andrew.cmu.edu – ONLY if CMU issued your DS-2019 immigration document.

Students must register for a CPT Information Session in advance on Handshake. To register, log in to your Handshake account and register for the event "CPT Session." Prior to attending the session, you should read the CPT instructions (pdf) and and start to prepare the CPT Academic Advisor Recommendation Form. You must bring your CMU ID card to be swiped into the CPT Information Session.
