The groundhog was right, spring is in the air! This week is packed with holidays and events, and OIE is excited about all of them. Whether you're planning to watch the Superbowl this weekend or take advantage of the warmer weather and get outside, we have an event for you. Superbowl Weekend

Well, the Pittsburgh Steelers aren't in the Superbowl this year, but that doesn't mean Pittsburghers won't be watching the game! Whether you're new to American football and want to know what everyone's talking about, or you got invited to a Superbowl watch party and want to brush up on the game, check out this video. Want to relive some of the greatest moments in Pittsburgh's sporting history? Check out the Heinz History Center's exhibit, Super Steelers! Learn how professional football got its start (hint, it happened right here in Pittsburgh) and how the Steelers became a powerhouse in the league and were the first team to win six Superbowls (the most championship wins in the league). Learn more about this event.

Upcycled Valentine Make and Take

Looking for a unique twist on gift-giving? On Tuesday, Feb. 13, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., stop by the Sustainability Studio on the main floor of Hunt Library for this unique event! Craft eco-friendly treasures from upcycled wonders that use items destined for the landfill transformed into works of art that speak volumes of your love. Carnegie Mellon Night at the Symphony

Carnegie Mellon University and the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra invite you to CMU Night at the Symphony! On Friday, Feb. 16, at 6:30 p.m., join fellow CMU students, alumni, friends, staff and faculty for a reception and performance to celebrate the partnership between Carnegie Mellon University and the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. Spread kindness! From Feb. 12-16, join Chartwells to celebrate DelighFUL, a week-long challenge designed to celebrate, carry out, and encourage random acts of kindness. Chartwells will host daily activities to help spread and share kindness around campus! Learn more about this week-long event.

Q&A With Founder of Pixar - Ralph Guggenheim

You've got a friend in me! On Friday, Feb. 9, at 5 p.m., join CMU alum Ralph Guggenheim (DC 1974, S 1979), founder of Pixar and producer of "Toy Story,"  for a virtual Q&A! This is an opportunity to learn more about his past and ask a fellow Tartan questions. This event is open to CMU students, faculty and staff only. Learn more about this event.

Jurassic Quest

An Afternoon with Terrance Hayes

Saturdays are for the poets! On Saturday, Feb. 10, at 1 p.m., check out this multi-media author event and Q&A with Poet Terrance Hayes. Hayes is an elegant and adventurous writer with disarming humor, grace, tenderness, and brilliant turns of phrase, very much interested in what it means to be an artist and a Black man. Registration encouraged. Seating is first come, first serve. Learn more about this event.
