BUTOHOUSE Film Screening + Discussion with Filmmakers

Movie poster featuring Keisuke Oka and text Butohouse a film by Ila Beka and Louise Lemoine

The cold outside is brutal, but this film screening is the perfect reason to stay inside. On Monday, Jan. 31, from 12 to 1:30 p.m., join this virtual film screening for a special presentation of BUTOHOUSE. This brutalist portrait of Japanese architect-artist Keisuke Oka focuses on the house he has spent the last 15 years building in the center of Tokyo, just in front of a masterpiece by Kenzo Tange. Inspired by butoh dance, this concrete building follows the dynamic of an everyday total improvisation. Learn more about the film, watch the trailer and join the virtual event.
