Employee Appreciation Day

The Office of International Education will be closed Friday, March 11, for the University's recognition of Employee Appreciation Day. Our office will re-open for normal business on Monday, March 14. Please plan accordingly, and we wish you all a safe and happy spring break.

Daylight Savings Time Change

Daylight Saving will begin on Sunday, March 13, at 2 a.m.! We'll spring forward by one hour. Most clocks will automatically reset, but be sure to double-check. You can learn more about Daylight Saving.

St. Patrick's Day Parade

The Steel City goes green! On Saturday, March 12, at 10 a.m., head downtown for one of the largest St. Patrick's Day celebrations in the country. Featuring Irish step dancers, marching bands, community organizations, and even Punxsutawney Phil. Rain, hail, or even blizzard conditions cannot stop this celebration, especially when "everyone is Irish for the day." Wear your green (or black and gold), and join in the fun!

Sing your heart out Tartans! On Wednesday, March 16, at 8 p.m., check out a free open mic night for musical theater enthusiasts. Whether you want to perform or hum along, you'll love this one-night-only song session starring you and Pittsburgh's musical theater community. They'll have it all, solos, duets, trios, group numbers, sing-alongs, contests, games, and more. You never know what exciting things will pop up on stage. Register for free.

Frankly Scarlett: All Made Up

Frankly, Scarlett, it's Women's History Month! On Saturday, March 12, at 8 p.m., see an all-improv show from Pittsburgh's favorite all-female comedy troupe. This show presents a fun and interactive night of improv with a fantastic cast. With a mix of short-form games and long-form scenes, their shows often feature special guests from Pittsburgh's comedy community. Learn more and purchase tickets in advance.
