Join OIE and Career & Professional Development Center (CPDC) staff for a virtual presentation Friday, Sept. 17 to learn the basics of employment authorization: Employment Authorization: What is it and when do you need it? The Center Meet & Greet: Sept. 23
Join The Center for Student Diversity & Inclusion for an informal meet and greet, Sept. 23 from 4 to 5 p.m., as we start the fall semester together. Stop by The Center's office, located in the lower level of the Cohon University Center, for some giveaways and friendly conversation! Pittsburgh International Jazz Festival
The August Wilson African America Cultural Center (AWAACC) is excited to welcome you to the 11th Annual Pittsburgh International Jazz Festival (PIJF) Sept. 17-19, presented by Citizens. The festival kicks off with the incomparable Chaka Khan and features many other fantastic artists! Learn more, view the schedule and purchase tickets at pittsburghjazzfest.org. Please note that masks are required in all indoor venues, and proof of Covid-19 vaccination is required for entry.
GOAT FEST at South Side Park
South Side Park's Annual GOAT FEST is back! Head to South Side Park, Arlington Baseball Field, Saturday, Sept. 18 from 12 noon to 4 p.m. for a day of music, food trucks, local craft vendors, a petting zoom, games and children's activities, guided hikes... and of course, working goats! Goat yoga will take place on Sunday, but reservation is required. Learn more.
If you aren't able to make it to GOAT FEST this weekend - or just want more goats in your life - take some time to visit with the eco-friendly landscapers who will be visiting campus next week. For the fifth time, goats from Allegheny GoatScape will be coming to CMU to eat the overgrown vegetation on the hillside adjacent to the Gates Center and the Purnell Center for the Arts. The goats are expected to arrive around 10 a.m. on Wednesday, September 22 and depart after 4 p.m. on Friday, September 24. Learn more.
Trax Farms Fall Festival
Trax Farms annual Fall Festival takes place at their 150-year-old farm and is a tradition for many families in the South Hills and greater Pittsburgh area. There's something for everyone! Enjoy a hayride to the pumpkin patch to pick your own pumpkin or see if you can find your way through the giant, 3-acre corn maze! Pumpkins are not included in the ticket price. The Fall Festival takes place every Saturday and Sunday from Sept. 25 through Oct. 24 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Visit the Trax Farms website for details and tickets.
Saturday Night Market
Presented by Green Mountain Energy, Night Markets bring an awesome outdoor pop-up shopping market and festival to Downtown's Market Square, featuring Pittsburgh's most creative independent vendors. Clothing, furniture, candles, food, drinks, and more are exhibited in this weekly series taking place on Saturdays from June 19 through Oct. 30 from 5 to 10 p.m. Admission is free!
