Chris Asenjo

International Programs Coordinator 

As International Programs Coordinator, Chris administers the Host Family Program for International Students, and assists in coordinating the International Spouse and Partners Group.  Chris served as assistant to the Vice President for Campus Affairs at Carnegie Mellon for eight years.  Her son Ian obtained his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Carnegie Mellon.  Prior to joining CMU, she served as Academic Coordinator for the Semester at Sea program at the University of Pittsburgh; and travel writer and book reviewer for The Pittsburgh Press and The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. 

Chris has travelled to 30 countries.  She received her M.A. in Religious Studies at the University of Pittsburgh, conducting her fieldwork at the Sri Venkateswara Hindu Temple in Pittsburgh; and her B.A. in English and Technical Writing at the Pennsylvania State University.  Currently she serves as study leader and instructor at the Osher Lifelong Learning Center at CMU, offering courses in Hinduism and Sikhism.  CMU students from India often participate in the classes as special guests.
