Carnegie Mellon University's chapter of Phi Beta Kappa (PBK) has inducted 54 students, 18 of whom are affiliated with the Mellon College of Science.

The nation's oldest honor society, PBK was founded in 1776 and advocates for the humanities and social sciences by expanding awareness about the importance of the liberal arts. The 293 chapters are housed at top universities across the country, and each invites a small number of exemplary students to join every year.
