Together, Tartans Make History

Giving CMU Day 2022 lands with a record number of supporters

By Lauren Sisco

On Nov. 29, 6,476 Tartans from around the world came together to support Carnegie Mellon students with more than $1.8 million in just 24 hours!

During Giving CMU Day, which this year had a theme of “24 to Soar,” $450,000 in challenge and match gifts were unlocked throughout the day. That means each gift given was often doubled — or even tripled — in impact.

Throughout the high-flying 24 hours of Giving CMU Day, 382 unique programs and initiatives at CMU — from research to student organizations — were touched by Tartan generosity. Every dollar given will allow Tartans to go into the new year with the resources and determination to realize their goals.
