What is the Tartan Entrepreneur's Pledge?

It is a personal, non-binding pledge to provide philanthropic support to CMU when the entrepreneur’s business achieves financial success. If you hold a stake in a privately held company, you can sign the Tartan Entrepreneur’s Pledge.

 

Why sign the pledge?

By making the pledge, you’ll join a community of philanthropic, entrepreneurial alumni who are committed to supporting CMU in the future. This network of founders and innovators share experiences and insight and encourage each other’s success. Pledge signers can access CMU’s ecosystem of entrepreneurship resources as well.

Ready to make the Pledge?

It’s a simple process. You will decide how much, when and where your support will be directed, and there is no minimum commitment to make the pledge. There are no tax ramifications associated with the pledge. Tax considerations arise when the pledge is fulfilled, and all gifts to CMU are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law. As a pledge signer, you are encouraged to make an annual gift to the Swartz Center, to entrepreneurial activities in a college or school of your choice, or to any part of the university meaningful to you.
