Registration & Attendee Info

Congratulations! As a member of the classes of 2018, 2014, 2009, 1994 and 1969, we look forward to celebrating with you at Spring Carnival. Learn more about Reunions.

We highly encourage registration in order to get an accurate room and a food count, although onsite registration is available for events without a capacity limit. Online registration has closed. You may register onsite at the Registration Tent for most events during the following times:

  • Thursday: 3:30-6 p.m.
  • Friday & Saturday: 9 a.m.-6 p.m.

Yes, you will receive a message confirming details of your registration. Yes, click “edit” on the confirmation email to make changes to your registration.

Yes, you are able to view a list of registrants, if they did not opt out during their registration. You may sort by name, class year and college.

Stop at the Registration Tent at the CMU Alumni Association area on Midway (rain location: Wean Commons, Cohon University Center) to find out exactly what to do, where to go and pick up your FREE Carnival giveaway! Welcome area hours are:

  • Thursday: 3-6 p.m. 
  • Friday & Saturday: 9 a.m.-6 p.m.
Casual attire is appropriate for most events throughout the weekend, unless otherwise noted.
  • Thursday: 3-11 p.m. 
  • Friday & Saturday: 11 a.m.-11 p.m. 
  • Rides open until 11 p.m.

Tickets can be purchased on Midway during Carnival. The cost varies per ride but most rides are between $.50 and $2.

Hotel and Transportation

While our office no longer holds room blocks, we are happy to provide a list of local hotels near campus. If you are celebrating a Reunion (classes of 2018, 2014, 2009, 1994 and 1969), room blocks have been held at several hotels depending on the class year.

Due to the influx of alumni returning for Spring Carnival, special parking rules are in effect. Parking is available:

  • Friday: Paid parking is available in the East Campus Garage on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Saturday: Free parking is available in the East Campus Garage on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Short-term (under 30 minutes) parking in the East Campus Garage: Pull into the garage, take a ticket and park in the area marked "short-term," which is to the left as soon as you come in from the Forbes Avenue side. You may park in that area free-of-charge for 30 minutes. When you pull out, you simply put your ticket into the exit gate. The gates are programmed for 30 minutes free; however, if you park for 31 minutes you would be charged for an hour, which is $3.
  • Additional parking is available in the Dithridge Street Garage (weekdays: $12 daily rate; $5 weekends & weekdays after 5 p.m.) and the Gates Garage (weekdays: $14 maximum rate; $4 weekends and weekdays after 5 p.m.).
  • Disabled parking available in the East Campus Garage, which requires the blue decal being presented (pass or license plate) to utilize the spaces.

  • Friday & Saturday: Margaret Morrison Street, Tech Street, Schenley Drive and Frew Street will be closed to vehicles from 5 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. There will also be no parking during those hours on Tech Street, Frew Sreet and Schenley Drive.

  • Sunday: In the event Buggy races are delayed until Sunday, the same time restrictions as above will be in effect.

Special Needs

We want to make sure Carnival is enjoyable, welcoming and accessible for all alumni, families, students, and their guests. If you or any of your guests have special needs, please let us know.

  • In advance: Please call 866-401-9529.

  • Onsite: Alert the staff by going to the Registration Tent at the CMU Alumni Association area on Midway (rain location: Wean Commons, Cohon University Center).

Campus Amenities

In addition to the many activities throughout the weekend that will have food and beverages, if you are looking for a place to eat on campus, be sure to check out the Dining Services website.

  • Thursday & Friday: 8:30 a.m.–5 p.m. 

  • Saturday: 10 a.m.–5 p.m.

  • Sidewalk Sale times are 11 a.m.-4 p.m.

Alumni and their guests may use the athletic facilities this weekend by presenting their Carnival name badge at the Equipment Desk, located on the first floor of the University Center, across from Wiegand Gym. You will receive a wristband and access to facilities, as available (including gymnasium, weight room, racquetball and squash courts). Note: Gym will be offline due to weekend events.

  • Thursday & Friday: 6 a.m.-2 a.m.

  • Saturday & Sunday: 9 a.m.-2 a.m.

Many areas on campus have been designated smoke-free zones, inclusive of 20 feet proximity to all building entrances. Please adhere to the university policy and the posted smoking areas.

All guests can access the CMU guest wireless, valid from April 11-14.
