Chisato Tada

Assistant Director, Foreign Student & Scholar Advisor

Chisato serves as an Assistant Director, Foreign Student & Scholar Advisor in OIE. She brings with her a strong commitment to supporting the success and well-being of CMU's international students and scholars.

Before joining CMU, Chisato worked with international populations at several U.S. institutions, including Pennsylvania State University and University at Albany, State University of New York (SUNY). She holds a Master of Science in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) from the University at Albany, SUNY, and a Bachelor of Arts in English and Education from Kansai Gaidai University in Japan. During her undergraduate studies, she also participated in an exchange program at the University of Louisville, Kentucky.

Chisato is dedicated to fostering global engagement and intercultural understanding. She has participated in a staff exchange program at Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU) in South Korea to broaden her international perspective and is actively involved in professional development through her participation in the NAFSA Academy.

Outside of work, Chisato enjoys connecting with people from diverse cultural backgrounds, trying new cuisines, and spending time in nature—whether hiking, practicing yoga or capturing scenic moments through photography.
