Remove Symantec Endpoint Protection from your comptuer

Symantect Endpoint Protection and other Symatec Applications have been found to contain serious security flaws. University Computing has requested the these products be immediately removed from all computers. After an extensive review we are recommending Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE, Windows 7) and Windows Defender (Windows 10) as suitable replacements.

MSE can be dowloaded here:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/14210/security-essentials-download

Windows Defender is installed by default on Windows 10.

The department's IT staff will handle removal from Staff computers and all other managed systems. Graduate students and faculty with unmanaged machines should remove this software ASAP.
