Vishal Jain is working as a Research Scientist in Chamanzar Lab at Carnegie Mellon University. He obtained his PhD from Bharathiar University, India with specialization in Cognitive and Molecular Neuroscience. His research interests are at the interface of neuroscience and neurotechnology, to develop novel neuroelectric and neurophotonic technologies and translate them to basic neuroscience and BCI applications. He is exploring functional changes in neural circuitry using electrophysiology and optical imaging methods in different brain regions employing ex-vivo and in-vivo models. Jain with his team developed a novel approach for non-invasive brain stimulation with submillimeter scale resolution.
